Tendo Mokko × Accurate Form. Two years in the making, the ultimate wooden watch case, tailored exclusively for luxury sports watches. A reserved seat for your watch, offered in three woods, including the magnetically shielded "A-MAG" version.

A luxury wooden watch case born from the collaboration between Tendo Mokko, one of Japan's leading furniture makers, and our watch accessory brand Accurate Form. Following our original flat-type case, we have developed a version for luxury sports watches. It holds integrated-bracelet watches, in which the case and bracelet form a single line, such as the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, as well as watches worn on leather straps with a deployant clasp. After about two years of planning and repeated prototyping, we finally arrived at a product we are satisfied with. Two versions are available: the "Standard Watch Case" and the "A-MAG Watch Case," a special edition with magnetic shielding. Each comes in a choice of three woods.

■Background
Many of the electronic devices around us, such as computers and mobile phones, generate strong magnetic fields. Vintage watches have almost no protection against magnetism. Once a watch becomes magnetized, it no longer keeps accurate time, and repairs can be costly and time-consuming. Dealers and serious collectors often carry many watches in a bag together with a laptop and a phone. We heard many requests for a case that would protect watches from magnetism and impact while in transit, and so we set out to develop a watch case with magnetic shielding. This "luxury sports" version was shaped by collectors who wanted a case for integrated-bracelet watches and for watches on deployant-clasp leather straps, which our original flat-type case could not accommodate. For those who do not need magnetic protection, we also produced a Standard version without shielding at a lower price.

■Features
・Magnetically shielded watch case
A special magnetic-shielding alloy lines the interior, blocking magnetic fields of the strength produced by computers and mobile phones. Although not visible, the side walls of the case (beneath the surface veneer) are also treated.

・Luxurious wooden exterior
Because this is a case for luxury items, we felt a sense of luxury was essential, so we chose fine wood veneers and paid close attention to the grain. We offer Claro Walnut and pommele Sapele, both with distinctive figuring, together with Agathis engineered-stripe veneer. The Agathis veneer is a natural wood veneer with an engineered grain pattern, made by laminating black-dyed Agathis with bleached, lightly dyed Agathis and slicing the block. This engineered-stripe veneer, produced by Tendo Mokko, has been used for the steering wheel of the LEXUS LS and is a highly sought-after luxury veneer.
The surfaces are finished with a water-repellent matte oil to keep moisture from soaking in as much as possible.

・Details with a vintage feel
The latches and hinges have a vintage look, fastened with brass slotted screws.

・Ideal for storage at home or in a safe
The stackable design lets even owners of many watches store them compactly. Your watches can be kept in a safe while fully protected.

■Magnetic penetration test (flat-type case)
We conducted a magnetic penetration test using a powerful magnet that produces a somewhat stronger field than a typical PC or mobile phone.
Magnetic force weakens with distance. The fields of ordinary electrical appliances are generally considered to have almost no effect at a distance of 10 cm or more. In this test, measurements were taken 2 cm from the magnet.

The magnetic field passes almost entirely through the case. Even when a mobile phone, which has a relatively weak field, is placed inside, the field still penetrates.

■Please note
・The exterior is natural wood, so the grain varies from piece to piece.
・The case is designed to hold watches sized for wrists of 14–19 cm.
・Watches wider than 50 mm (excluding the crown) will not fit.
・The case may break if subjected to a strong impact. Please handle with care.
・The magnetic shielding is intended to block fields of the strength produced by ordinary computers and mobile phones. Keep very strong magnets away from the case.
・Because magnetization can occur at any time and place, we cannot offer compensation for a watch becoming magnetized.
・Hardware may develop faults with repeated use, so periodic inspection is recommended. Faulty hardware will be replaced (charges apply except for initial defects).
